What we do

All-on-4

All-on-4 replaces a whole jaw of missing or failing teeth with a fixed bridge carried by four titanium implants. The two implants at the back are placed at an angle, which lets them use the denser bone at the front of the jaw — that is usually what makes the plan possible without a bone graft.

Ask Dr. Hatice about this
3D render: a full lower arch of fixed teeth supported by four titanium implants in the jawbone

Illustrations of the technique, not patient results. Your own plan follows Dr. Hatice's review of your X-ray.

Who it suits

  • You are missing most or all of the teeth in one jaw
  • Your remaining teeth are failing and are due to come out anyway
  • You wear a removable denture and want something fixed in place
  • There is enough bone at the front of the jaw to anchor angled implants

When we say no

  • If bone volume is too low even at the front, four implants will not hold. All-on-6 or zygomatic implants may be the honest answer instead — or the answer may be that this is not the right time.
  • Uncontrolled diabetes, active gum infection and heavy smoking all lower the odds of an implant integrating. Dr. Hatice will tell you that before you book a flight, not after.

How the treatment runs

  1. 01

    X-ray review

A recent panoramic X-ray or CT scan, read by Dr. Hatice herself before you travel.

  2. 02

    Plan and written quote

Itemised in writing and fixed before you book anything.

  3. 03

    Surgery

Any remaining teeth are removed, four implants are placed, and in most cases a temporary fixed bridge goes on the same day.

  4. 04

    Healing

The implants integrate with the bone over the following months while you wear the temporary bridge.

  5. 05

    Final bridge

The permanent bridge is made and fitted on a second visit.

Time in Istanbul

All-on-4 normally runs across two visits — a longer first visit for surgery and the temporary bridge, then a shorter second visit for the final one after healing. The exact number of days is set out in your written plan. We will not give you a day count before Dr. Hatice has seen your X-ray.

Questions

All-on-4: common questions

Ask Dr. Hatice
Does All-on-4 surgery hurt?

The placement itself is done under local anaesthetic, with sedation available for patients who want it. You feel pressure rather than pain. Swelling and soreness for the first few days afterwards is normal and is managed with the medication you are sent home with.

Will I fly home with teeth, or with nothing?

In most All-on-4 cases a temporary fixed bridge is fitted the same day the implants are placed, so you do not travel without teeth. Whether that applies to your jaw is confirmed from your X-ray before you book, not promised in advance.

How is the price decided?

From your X-ray. How many extractions are needed, whether any grafting is required and which material you choose for the final bridge all change the figure. You receive an itemised written quote before you book travel, and it is the figure you pay on arrival.

How long will the implants last?

Titanium implants fuse with bone and are intended to stay. The bridge on top is a wearing part and may need replacing over a lifetime. How long either lasts depends on your hygiene, whether you smoke, how heavy your bite is and whether you attend check-ups. Nobody can honestly promise a number of years.

Can I have All-on-4 if I smoke or have diabetes?

Both lower the odds of an implant integrating — smoking measurably so, and diabetes when it is not well controlled. Neither is an automatic refusal, but Dr. Hatice will tell you the raised risk before you book a flight rather than after treatment.

Will I need a bone graft first?

The two angled rear implants are what usually makes grafting unnecessary, because they reach the denser bone at the front of the jaw. Whether your jaw needs one anyway is answered by your X-ray, not by a general rule.
